Baltimore, Maryland (Dr Surinder Singh Gill)
A spirited Gatka competition was organized by Shaheed Baba Jujhar Singh Ji Gatka Akhara at Gurdwara Sikh Association of Baltimore. The event brought together around a dozen teams from across the United States, each showcasing traditional Sikh martial arts with discipline, grace, and passion.
Winners were honored with awards in recognition of their skill and dedication. The management committee of the Gurdwara offered their full support, helping ensure the event was a resounding success.
Langar (the community meal) was lovingly prepared and served by Sardar Daljeet Singh Babbi (President) in sweet remembrance of his late parents and brother. Hundreds of members of the Sangat (congregation) participated, showing great enthusiasm and devotion.
The vibrant atmosphere was further enriched with various food stalls that served a wide array of delicious offerings. The event not only celebrated martial tradition but also strengthened the sense of community and cultural pride.
Congratulations to all participants — may the spirit of Gatka continue to shine and inspire future generations.
